What is a Mobile Wallet and how does it work?
FCB offers the following Mobile Wallet options: Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Mobile Wallets are apps designed to securely store your FCB Banks debit card information so you can easily make in-person purchases at participating merchants by simply holding your phone near the card reader – without swiping your debit card! You can also use Apple Pay and Google Pay to make in-app purchases without having to enter your payment information.
Are Mobile Wallets secure?
Yes, Mobile Wallets are secure because they don’t store your actual card number(s) and the card information is encrypted. A separate security code is generated for each transaction. Before the transaction is completed, you will need to enter either a passcode or use your device’s fingerprint ID feature to authenticate the transaction. With the Mobile Wallet, your actual debit card number(s) are never shared with merchants or stored on your phone; and the cashier never sees your name, card number or security code. These features are strong protections against card fraud and are designed to protect you.
How do I set up Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay?
Many newer phones have the Mobile Wallet app already installed. If not, download the app from your app store. Open the app, click to add your FCB debit card and follow the instructions to enter your debit card/account information. This is a one-time entry and is used to set up a digital account that will enable you to start making payments with your device. In some instances, you may be asked to contact FCB to complete the Mobile Wallet set up process.
For security purposes, you will be required to have a passcode or a fingerprint lock on your device.
What is a Digital Account Number and how is it different from my card number?
For your security, when you add your FCB debit card(s) to Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay, a Digital Account Number or Token – a separate and unique number for your device – is created and transmitted as an encrypted one-time-use number by your phone. This Digital Account Number, instead of your real card number, is used to make Mobile Wallet purchases. Your full debit card number is NOT stored on the device, servers, or with merchants. With your Mobile Wallet, you no longer need to share your personal account information when you shop. This helps reduce the potential for fraud.
If I add my FCB debit card(s) to my phone to use Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay, will I be charged any new fees or rates?
There is no cost associated with adding your card(s) to the Mobile Wallet or using Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay, although message and data charges may apply.
Where can I use my Mobile Wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay)?
You can use your Mobile Wallet wherever contactless payments are accepted. Just look for the contactless and/or Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay symbol at checkout.
How do I use my Mobile Wallet with Apple Pay, Google Pay or Samsung Pay?
Hold your phone near the card reader (NFC terminal). With Samsung Pay, hold the phone over the area where you would normally swipe your card. Then follow the prompts to complete the transaction.
Can I use my Mobile Wallet to pay at the pump or at ATMs?
Not at this time.
Can I put my debit card(s) on multiple devices?
Yes, you can add your FCB debit card(s) to several devices.
What should I do when I get a new, renewed or replacement debit card, or want to remove my card?
For any new or replacement card, or to remove your card, you will need to delete your current digital account. Then go through the initial set up of providing the card details to your digital payment service. For card renewals, you can follow the steps above or contact FCB to update your debit card expiration date.
If you delete your digital account, you will be able to make purchases with your debit card.
